Families, Navigating Systems & NVR

From Overwhelm to Reconnection: Reclaiming your Home

Specialist support for families navigating trauma, medical diagnosis, disability, and systems.

You don't feel like a parent. You feel like you are just surviving. You have become the unexpected expert of a medical condition, paperwork, hospital appointments and learning to advocate in systems that more often than not you understand more than they do. In all this, your inner light feels like it is dimming. You might be experiencing any of these or something more:

  • The Physical Storm - as children get to grasps with their mind and body, or medical experiences, their distress has turned into verbal aggression, physical violence, or total shutdown.

  • The Communication Gap - they might not have the verbal language to express their pain and use their body instead. It is difficult for you to watch and communicate with others.

  • The Systemic Fatigue - you are exhausted from fighting for EHCPs, navigating CAMHS, or feeling judged by the very professionals meant to help you.

  • The Adoption and Kinship Reality - you’re managing the invisible threads of early-life trauma while trying to build a secure base.

Looking after you

Easier said than done

I’ve been in your shoes, and I know the science of the way out, and I also know how difficult it is even when I knew all the background. Living it and doing the work to change at the same time, takes space and time.

I don’t just work with families from a textbook. I have lived the reality of NVR and the complexity of the care system. I know what it’s like to feel your own nervous system fry as you walk on eggshells to please the next person, nervous if you will be listened to.

I bridge the gap between the medical and the emotional. I help you understand the physiology of dysregulation. We don’t just look at what your child is doing; we look at what their nervous system is communicating, as well as yours.

The Pillars of Support

How We Move Toward Calm

  • Non-Violent Resistance (NVR): Evidence-based strategies to stop child-to-parent violence (CPV) and reclaim your parental presence without force or conflict.

  • Systemic Advocacy: Support in navigating the 'Professional Maze.' I help you hold your ground with schools, social services, and medical teams who may not yet understand your child's specific neurological profile.

  • The Language of Behaviour: Decoding non-verbal aggression for children who can’t find the words for their frustration.

  • Parental Regulation: Specialised somatic work for you. We work to lower your baseline stress so you can remain the safe harbour when your child is in the storm.

You don't have to do this alone.
